The New Girl way...

My latest obsession is this new TV series 'New Girl'. It's very funny and I'm totally in love with all the 5 characters, specially Zooey Deschanel who plays the main lead 'Jess'. Also,  Zooey's look on the show is adorable, it's full of polka dots and stripes (which I love madly). But at the same time I'm not as colorful as her, although believe me I try! Here are some of my favorite looks from the show so far...

I am such a big fan of stripes that one day if they decide to make stripes the biggest fashion faux pas, I would be the one committing it!

Love the bows and the red shoes!

Is this cute or what?

The Farm...

While planning for the new year's weekend getaway last year, my friend suggested a hotel called 'The Farm' in Jaipur. I decided to check out the website, but due to some reason could not view any pictures on it. Somehow the little information on the home page and the sound of the unusual name intrigued us enough and we decided to book it. But as luck would have it, the place was sold out!
4 months later I got a chance to take a virtual tour of it and what I 'saw' was worth sharing with you :)

Decorated in an eclectic style, this place seems to be a fusion of conventional and contemporary designs
Where a beautifully carved & traditionally designed table makes a statement at the centre, a yellow hammock hangs easy on the other end

A mix of old and new... isn't that how all homes are generally?

Now this one's quirky!

If you notice closely each room is done up in a different style and tone from the rest, making it an interesting experience for visitors.
P.S. - Try it at home!
It not only looks great but also saves you the occasional boredom (which the likes of me experience often). It would also give you the freedom to change the look of a single room without worrying about disturbing the tone of the whole house.

With a lot of inspiration around here for decor ideas, I can bet this place would get the creative juices flowing in my brain and thus would make a very motivating blogging spot. The hospitality on the other hand can only be spoken about once put to test (which I will pretty soon).

Hope this was as much an eye candy for you as it was for me! Do share your thoughts via the comment box below. See ya soon!

Spring is in the air...

"April hath put a spirit of youth in everything."  ~William Shakespeare

Yes! April is around the corner and spring is in the air.
Things that I'm loving right now - the  sunny mornings, the red poppies in our garden, the mauve flowers on the tree peeping through my window, how I feel like working out once again(read: out of excuses now that winter is gone), how my skin doesn't feel so dry anymore, how everything feels so alive around me and these flowery beauties...

I'v noticed that the color Teal really calls out to me, I'm totally smitten by it :)

These are acrylic!

Love the frogys

Loved the leafy wall art and the print on the lamp shades make the whole set up look sophisticated yet peppy

These photo frames look so classy!

This was definitely therapy for my soul, hope it brightened your day too. I'll leave you with this classic springtime song by Elvis, sing along!!!

Do leave your comments as it's always great to hear from you. Happy Springtime!

Look what I chanced upon...!!

It's worth a thought how a vacation always seems too short as compared to the period of anticipation before it begins. It starts with all the rush and excitement of having reached the destination, then the state of repose and inaction when you feel as if this has been 'your' way of life, followed by the 'all you can see and do' schedule in the last two days and it finally ends with the birth of a new plan for the next holiday in your greedy little mind.

It was during the second phase of my recent retreat, while taking a stroll on the streets of Goa that I chanced upon this beautiful store with all things Moroccan. The gentleman who owned the store let us in on some dope about the stuff displayed there while tossing an invite at us to an after beach party at a club(which by the way was owned by him too). The carpets in the store had been brought in all the way from Marrakesh and most of the lamps & accessories were sourced from other parts of Morocco. Me being me, loved every minute spent here.

Here are some of the things I found interesting at this lovely store...

Hope you enjoyed this too and look forward to hearing from you.
I feel super as I finish writing today's post and excited to bring you another colorful feature soon. Adeus!

Hand made in India!!

Off late I have been reading about the handicrafts industry in India and about all the craft communities dwelling in different parts of our country. And as I read on about these highly skilled artisans and the welfare organisation working for them, full of awe & admiration, I find myself getting pulled towards them.

So as you must have guessed by now, today's feature is on the work of such artisans. The craftsmanship of many of these artisans is governed by an organisation called AIACA - All India Artisans and Craftworkers Welfare Association which works towards improving their livelihood by helping them market their products.

So here are some of the beautiful items from their latest catalogue...

Simply loved the colors and the botanical designs

This has been called the 'Nomad' collection of scarves & shawls by artisans from Bhuj

What elegant cushion designs!

Besides this dazzling collection, I really admired the great photography but was unable to find any information about the artist.

Hope you enjoyed this feature and felt the same love for these artisans as I did. Do drop in your comments as its always lovely to hear from you. So till next time...CIAO!!
